Located at the Shipyard Marina, the Hoboken Sailing Club is perfect for beginner and expert sailors. Whether you’re looking to sail for leisure purposes, or you prefer the challenge and competition of racing, the Hoboken Sailing Club has something for everyone!

If you are new to sailing, we would be more than happy to assist you in making arrangements for sailing lessons. As a Hoboken Sailing Club member, you can take part in weekly races and social events at our spectacular Pier 13 Bar.

Located at the Shipyard Marina, the Hoboken Sailing Club provides use of a fleet of Club J/24 Sailboats and an Archambault Sailboat, a French design that competes with the J/24. Our knowledgeable and welcoming staff maintains the fleet of boats and oversees fleet scheduling and organization of competitions.

Q. How long is the course? The course is 18 hours over a two-day period. During the 2 days, you will have both in classroom and on the water exercises and instruction.

Q. When are the courses offered? Courses will be held on Saturdays and Sundays, then again on weekdays based upon availability. Course schedule is subject to change. Please contact us for availability.

Q. What do I need to do to become a member of The Sailing Club? Contact George via the email indicated below and make an appointment to have a tour of our facility. Then you will need to provide us a completed membership application along with your payment. Payment can be received as a check or by providing us your credit card information.

Q. How much does it cost to become a member? 2018 Memberships are of two types: Individual: $1,231.52 ($1,155.00 plus 6.625% NJ Sales Tax) Family: $1,679.34 ($1,575.00 plus 6.625% NJ Sales Tax) Guests are allowed at an additional $25.

Q. What are membership requirements? To join the club, we require that you have already taken a Basic Keel Boat Course and obtained a NJ State Boating License. The Club was formed to promote the sport of sailing, to conduct sailing activities and to maintain a suitable facility for the entertainment and convenience of its members. Our members all have a common love of the sport of sailing, enjoying time with friends on the Hudson River.

Q. What if I don’t know how to sail?

If you join as an individual we will help match you up with other members of appropriate skill level.

No sailing experience is required. If you are new to sailing we will refer you to where basic sailing courses are offered. At that point you should have enough of a background where we can further your practical learning to be able to go out on your own.

Q. How do I schedule the use of The Club Boats?
